14th birthday: Surprised by Schoolmates
“To give
somebody your time is the biggest gift you can give.”
I had rehearsal for Speech Day on 30 March 2015 as my friend, Zhi Xi, dragged me to be an emcee with her after a tiring learning journey to Kranji War Cemetery. The rehearsal lasted for hours until 6pm and I thought I could finally go home. But then, a teammate of mine went up to me and blindfolded me and the first thing that came to my mind was the feeling of guilt because I realised that they had been waiting for me.
